New Bixby 2.0 to be revealed next week

Even though Samsung include Bixby on millions of devices now, admit it Bixby has to be one of Samsung’s least popular products and users are just disabling it. The company has appointed Chung Eui-suk as a new leader of the company’s AI department, and in a few days Samsung will unveil the next major version of the digital assistant.

The major change in Bixby 2.0 is that it will now support third-party services and will expand beyond smartphones. These things are not part of v1.0 since the team ran out of time to fully develop Bixby before its original launch. third-party services includes support for a smart speaker and support for Samsung Smart TVs.

The next revision of Bixby will be showcased on October 18, 2017 at Samsung’s Developer Conference in San Francisco USA.
