The next flagship from Samsung scheduled to launch early next year the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ could feature a front-facing fingerprint scanner. As Samsung filed for with KIPRIS, South Korea’s trademarking organization.

We all know that Samsung takes a hit from criticism for the odd placement of there fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone for the Galaxy S8 and its latest Note 8.

If the patent documentation is accurate, Samsung is planning on building a small notch on the bottom of the Galaxy S9 that will house a small super-fast fingerprint reader just like the notch on the essential phone that houses the camera.

Are small notches like the essential phone and the iPhone X the only solution to put these sensors up front, and still appreciate a larger screen to body ration. And rumors also suggested that the S9 will still not have the fingerprint scanner embedded under the display and that the Note 9 will be the first to have that feature.

All we know so far is that the Galaxy S9 is expected to have the same 5.8-inch Infinity Display as the Galaxy S8, while the Galaxy S9+ should pack an identical 6.2-inch Infinity Display like the Galaxy S8+. Expected to have the latest Snapdragon 845 or Exynos CPU and 6GB of RAM.

So what do you think of this new implementation from Samsung, Let us know in the comments below.
