Some Galaxy S8’s screen are randomly turning on

Its just the start of a new year but Samsung's last years flagship faces some issue as some Galaxy S8’s screen are randomly turning on

According to affected users, the issue pops up when they turn off the screen, either by pressing the power button or letting the phone go to sleep on its own. The screen will then turn on for seconds, then turn right off.

The issue persist throughout the day and lead to faster discharge of the battery, rebooting, turning on the phone in safe mode and clearing the cache partition doesn't fix the issue.

The issue may not be widespread as of the moment but it doesn't mean its not a major issue, as affected owners may not be reporting the problem.

Also, there doesn’t appear to be a clear reason why the inadvertent screen wake-up is happening. People have guessed that everything from the charger to the Smart Stay option being enabled has to do with the issue, though no conclusion has been reached.

The issue seems to affect both Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung hasn’t issued a statement on the matter, though we encourage those affected to reach out to the company’s customer service. While you’re at it, you might as well see if your device has charging issues that affect Note 8 users, Samsung acknowledged the issues and said it will replace devices on a case-by-case basis.
